January is a time of resolutions to make our lives for the coming year better than they were in the one that preceded it. But, looking beyond ourselves, to the city, we can make a ton of resolutions that will be downright fun.
One example of our Philadelphia resolutions for 2019 is a vow to try as many of the city’s best new restaurants as possible. There are so many even just in our neighborhood of Center City like the Korean sensation Seorabol, Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant, and the long-awaited Brickwall Tavern.
2018 got off to a mind-blowing start when the Philadelphia Eagles won their first Super Bowl ever in February. Since then, there’s been a buzz amongst the local sports crowds as several of our teams bid for the next Philly championship. This gives us plenty of reason to get out and see as many games of as many different pro sports this year as possible.
In the vein of attending more sporting games, we would like to make a resolution to attend more local events this year. The festivals, exhibits, and shows you can find on places like The Independent Hotel Events Calendar offer an intimate experience with the city’s locals that’s usually unique and enjoyable.
This year we had an absolute blast hosting a mini staycation for Philadelphia lifestyle bloggers Alex & Mike. The local couple checked out some of our recently refreshed rooms and made the case for Philadelphia residents to take some time to see the city from a fresh, and luxurious perspective. Check out the post on the experience to learn more.
With all of our focus on new events and new experiences, we want to keep our list of resolutions well balanced with a promise to stay in touch with local landmarks. Philadelphia has so much household-name history with things like the Liberty Bell, as well as a number of spots that are more historic to locals such as The Eastern State Penitentiary.
