The Made in America Music Festival is the premier Philadelphia music event of the summer, and this year’s lineup is one you can’t miss. Every September since the festival’s beginning in 2012, dozens of top performers from every genre, handpicked by festival organizer Jay Z, have rocked the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. This year, thousands of fans will pack the area near the Philadelphia Art Museum steps to see festival headliners Beyonce and The Weeknd along with whopping total of 47 other musical acts during Labor Day weekend, September 5th and 6th.
Last year the festival was jointly held in Philadelphia and Los Angeles, but Made in America is returning to its roots as a Philadelphia-exclusive event in 2015. Performances at the festival are spread across multiple stages, with the main stage, reserved for the biggest acts, in front of the Philadelphia Art Museum’s steps. If her performance at the 2013 Made in America festival is any indication, Beyonce’s headlining slot on the main stage at this year’s festival will draw a massive crowd.
Made in America’s artist lineup is curated every year by Jay Z to appeal to as many festivalgoers as possible, so whether you’re into hip hop, rock, pop, EDM or R&B, the festival will have a plenty of artists for you. Rap and R&B highlights include J. Cole, Big Sean, De La Soul, Action Bronson, Earl Sweatshirt and Philadelphia-native Meek Mill, and bands like Modest Mouse, Metric, and Death Cab for Cutie will be the top acts for rock fans. Feel like dancing? Acts like Axwell^Ingrosso, A-Trak, and Bassnectar will be rounding out the lineup for dance and EDM at the Made in America Music Festival.
