Get ready, Philadelphia, because you’re getting your very own extension of PAX. After the tabletop features of PAX continued to grow, the organizers decided to host a show dedicated exclusively to tabletop gaming. The very first PAX Unplugged will be an analog extension of the PAX gaming festivals, and will be held in Philadelphia.
PAX, originally known as Penny Arcade Expo, is a series of gaming festivals typically held in Seattle, Boston, Melbourne, and San Antonio. The series was created by Jerry Holkins and Mike Krahulik after the two desired a show centered exclusively on gaming. Since its inception in 2004, PAX has been hailed as a prominent celebration of gamer culture.
Some of the features of this festival will include dozens of fantastic exhibitors (such as developers, AAA publishers, and indie teams), panels, performances, gaming tournaments showcasing games from all genres and platforms, pin trading, and a family room. A full schedule of events and features is still yet to be released, but guests can expect the best of gamer culture and community. Passes can be purchased for all three days, or for individual days. This event is suitable for all ages.
