Since 2008, the annual Philadelphia Asian American Film Festival (PAAFF) has presented a collection of culturally relevant films and programming celebrating the Asian American experience. The volunteer-run nonprofit organization strives to highlight films by and about Asian Americans, and presents screenings and events around the city. The setting is perfect—as of 2010, over 90,000 Asian Americans live in Philadelphia county, and the city possesses an emerging film industry. The festival promotes the already-present diversity in Philly, and is the largest of its kind on the East Coast.
