If ink is your thing, or even just of interest, you should be sure to check out the Philadelphia Tattoo Arts Convention happening the 2nd weekend of February. Tickets are only sold at the show — $22 for a day or a 3-day pass costs $45 (children under 12 are free.) This is the 17th year the show has been coming to town displaying some of the most creative tattoos as well as daily entertainment.
To kick off the 3-day show, there will be an opening party at Tattooed Mom- 530 South Street- on Thursday February 12th from 8pm-2am. The party will feature the book release of Lost At Sea from Scorpion Front Publishing. This inked-up book features nautical-themed tattoos from some of the greatest tattoo artists around. Quantities of the book will be limited there, so grab one right away!
On Friday, head over to the Philadelphia Tattoo Arts Convention in the heart of Philadelphia at the Convention Center to check out all of the ink and get ready for sensory overload. As soon as you walk in the door, you will hear the buzzing of the hundreds of tattoo guns and the myriad of colors and designs on the tattoos will overwhelm you.
Have a tattoo? Show it off in one of the many tattoo contests. The entry fee is $10 and the judging ranges from most traditional to most unusual. Trophies will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd winner as well as plaques for the artist.
Don’t have a tattoo yet? The Philadelphia Tattoo Arts Convention is the place to get one! There are artists from all over the country ready to design whatever you have in mind. You can do a lot of great window shopping before you decide what design you want.
