In Philadelphia, the merriest 5k involves the ugliest running gear. The only pre-requisite for the Ugly Sweater Run is in its namesake: you have to pull on your best holiday ugly sweater (the uglier the better). As the North American tour stops in the City of Brotherly Love, runners and walkers from around the nation will fill the streets. The run is about 3.1 miles in length, and takes participants through the blocks and parks of Philly. Massive inflatables, photo stations, games, and music create a jolly atmosphere at the starting line, while guests can run through fake snow and ride a mechanical reindeer at the finish.
Additionally, post-run activities involve an adult spin on childhood favorites. Kahlua cocktails, hot chocolate, and other warm holiday goodies will stave off the cold weather. Awards will be bestowed on those with the Best Ugly Sweater, Best Kids Sweater, Best Pet Attire, and Best Real/Fake Mustache or Beard. Don’t miss out on this holiday tradition!
