Head to one of Philly’s favorite live music venues, The Fillmore, to see Regina Spektor as part of her 2017 tour. If you purchase your tickets online through The Fillmore, you’ll receive a CD or digital version of Spektor’s new album, Remember Us to Life.
Regina Spektor grew up in Moscow, Russia, until she was 7 years old. When she was 9, her family settled in the Bronx, New York, where a music teacher offered her free piano lessons. After a jazz-influenced first album and touring with the Strokes, Spektor’s breakthrough came in 2016 with her album Begin to Hope. Her hit song “Fidelity” became the soundtrack for Grey’s Anatomy and was featured on other TV soundtracks. Since then, Spektor has toured with Tom Petty, created the theme song for the popular Netflix series Orange Is the New Black, and contributed to the soundtrack for HBO’s Boardwalk Empire. She released her seventh album, Remember Us to Life, in 2016. Spektor’s eclectic vocals and lyrics remain a prominent piece of the new album, as they have in her past works. While the album is noticeably more somber in tone than her other records, it possesses the same earnestness and folk, punk, and classical influences that have made Spektor a distinctive artist for years.
