One of the most revered stage ballet’s of all time, Swan Lake will come to life once more in a traditional staging of the classic production. Angel Corella reworks Marius Petipa’s choreography in this new Pennsylvania Ballet premiere, and the Madrid-born dancer brings her classical and modern dance prowess to the stage.
The story follows Prince Siegfried, a dashing young man whose mother urges find a bride at the royal ball the following evening. After the prince goes hunting with friends and is separated from his group, he witnesses a swan transformed into a beautiful maiden. He falls in love, but maiden is terrified of him and reveals that she is the victim of an evil spell cast by a sorcerer named Von Rothbart and becomes human each night. Follow the prince and the Swan Queen as they attempt to break the spell. The dark, lakeside glen sparkles with dazzling choreography and music, and spins with grace, artistry, and elegance to create a spectacular production.
